Public Speaking & Live Translation

One of my biggest passions is connecting people.

Between 2016 and 2020, some of the most fun I ever had was translating live between English and Indonesian on stage — carrying a speaker's voice, energy, and timing across a language in real time, sometimes to rooms of a few thousand.

Around the same time I traveled to South Africa to practice public speaking — sharing on personal development in prisons and townships, and learning a lot more than I taught. I don't do this work much in the present, but I hope I get to again. Connecting cultures — and helping people feel understood across them — is something I don't think I'll ever grow out of.

Things I've done

  • Live translation — consecutive EN↔ID for visiting speakers and guests, on stage and in the moment.
  • MC & hosting — conferences, gatherings, and events; keeping a room's energy and pacing steady.
  • Performing — singing and acting since I was a kid; comfortable with a mic and a room.
  • Scale — rooms from 50 to 5,000, indoors and open-air.
